Director General of the Georgian Railway had an official visit to People’s Republic of
China. The government delegation was
headed by the First Vice-Premier and Minister of Economy and Sustainable
Development - Dimitry Kumsishvili. In
the scope of The Belt and Road initiative, we met the Vice-President of
National Development and Reform Committee of China and the Ministers of Transport
and Commerce. The opportunities and advantages of Middle Corridor, free
trade, organizing information activities and roadshows in various Chinese
cities and discussing future perspectives of cooperation between the countries
were the subjects discussed at the meeting. Representatives of China have expressed
their readiness to discuss the subjects offered by Georgia. It is already known
that Chinese delegation of Ministry of Transport will visit Georgia, in June.
The purpose of the visit will be study of a Georgian section of Middle Corridor and other issues.
